Vehicle Kit

This kit is designed to help you if you find yourself stuck on the side of the road for any reason.  What will you need in order to get moving again?  What do you need while you wait for help to arrive?

This kit can be a backpack or a small bag stuffed under the seat.  Whatever you choose, make sure it is actually put in the vehicle.  It won't do yo any good if it is put together and left in the garage.

Jumper Cables

Jumper cables are very handy.  If the dome light was left on or the headlights didn't turn off.  This can result in a dead battery and you need a jump.  Don't assume everyone has a set.

Tow Straps

This is another item that comes in handy.  If you slide off the side of the road a pair of straps can really be a life saver.

Temperature Control

Being able to stay warm or cool while on the side of the road is very important.  If your engine won't start then your ability to control the temperature stops.  Have a blanket and water in vehicle at all times.  If you are staying in the cab for any period of time you need to check the tailpipe to make sure it is not covered.  Carbon Monoxide will get in the cab and kill you.  Keep a window cracked for fresh air even if it is cold outside.

Food and Water

Food and water should always be in the vehicle.  If you are stuck on the side of the road, snacks can really be a helpful tool.  Water is always important.  Any food left in the car during the summer will need to be rotated regularly.
