Beef Tacos

Always a family favorite!

This simple and fast recipe is perfect for busy nights or anytime you have the night get away with you and everyone is still hungry.

Quick Beef Tacos

Serves: 4
Time: 20 minutes

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)

  • 1 small onion, diced (optional)

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade – chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt)

  • 2/3 cup water

  • 8 small taco shells (soft or hard)

  • Toppings (choose your favorites):

    • Shredded lettuce

    • Diced tomatoes

    • Shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

    • Sour cream

    • Salsa or taco sauce

    • Sliced jalapeños

    • Avocado or guacamole

 

Instructions:

  1. Cook the meat:
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned (5–7 minutes). Drain excess grease.

  2. Season it:
    Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.

  3. Warm the shells:
    Heat taco shells according to package directions (usually 1–2 minutes in the oven or 20 seconds in the microwave).

  4. Assemble:  Spoon the seasoned meat into taco shells. Add your favorite toppings.

  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
